TOMES AKINITA has received its name from TOMES SA, a company established in 1992 which deals with constructing large public sector projects.

TOMES dynamic course in the field of building construction has resulted in establishing the company   as a powerful presence in the area of construction with a leading position in Crete.

TOMES has built numerous fundamental infrastructure projects, vital for Crete’s development. Some indicative projects concern the Northern Crete Highway project (Souda – Kolimbari part, in Chania,  Linoperamata- Katsabas part in Heraklion) and the highway intersections, the aircraft parking ground in Chania Airport, large parts of the highway works of Heraklion – Viannou, land irrigation projects in Apokoronas as well as public school buildings.

In 2001 the company dynamically entered the area of tourism, by constructing the privately owned luxurious five-star hotel MINOA PALACE (www.minoapalace-chania.gr) in Platanias Chania. A few months later, the company constructed an apartment building complex of high quality standards in the city center of Chania.

In view of activity expansion in the area of property development, TOMES AKINITA (akinita is the greek word for properties) was founded, a company focusing solely on building projects, especially luxury homes.
